The technical Proof of Concept (POC) using the electronic patient file (Landelijk Schakelpunt, or LSP) was conducted with validated patients and successfully completed on 31 January 2013. The process proved that a patient can be registered using a pharmacy with a unique health care professional identifier (Unieke Zorgverlener Identificatie-certificaat/pas) to gain access to the LSP. The medication file, lab reports and (if available) details regarding intolerance, allergies and contraindications, can be obtained. The Clinical Rules Engine (CRE) sent feedback regarding relevant signals and changes in patient files concerning medication, lab results etc. After several cycles through the CRE, new alerts were created and existing alert levels were changed.

This positive result from the POC eLab is a step forward for StichtingStatusScoop towards their contribution to a more efficient, better and safer way to provide care through a national infrastructure.
The next milestone in this test phase will be the implementation in a community pharmacy with approximately 10 patients on 25 February 2013. The cases used were selected for their broad range of possible analyses.
